Adaptations and apearance

Hourglass dolphins are under sic feet long and they are black and white.Baby hourglass dolphins have grey bodies while they have white bellies. Hourglass dolphins do not change their body color but their back becomes black. The patterns on their bodies are believed to play a role in communication and camouflage.They have a streamlined body shape for swimming and they have a disk shaped vertebrae that gives them a higher stability, these adaptations make them different to other dolphin species. Hourglass dolphins are small but they are fast and they are good at swimming.Hourglass dolphins are timid and they are not close to humans. We usually see them swimming behind a boat because of the flow of water.
